This framework ensures that CrFA® professionals are not only technically proficient in forensic accounting and fraud investigation but also uphold the highest standards of integrity, objectivity, and accountability in every engagement.
Purpose of the Competency Framework
The CrFA® competency framework provides a structured roadmap for professional development. It helps individuals and organizations understand the core capabilities that define excellence in forensic accounting and financial investigation.

Every CrFA® professional is trained and assessed across four major domains of competence:
1. Technical & Analytical Competence
Understanding of accounting, auditing, and reporting systems
Mastery of forensic investigation methods and evidence analysis

Application of quantitative reasoning to uncover financial irregularities
2. Ethical & Legal Competence
