Certification Process

Your Road to Becoming a Certified Forensic Accountant (CrFA®)

The CrFA® certification follows a clear and structured process to ensure that every successful candidate meets the standards of competence, ethics, and professionalism expected in forensic accounting and financial investigation.

1. Verify Eligibility

Candidates must have:

  • A relevant academic or professional background in accounting, auditing, law, fraud investigation, or related fields

  • At least two years of professional experience in a qualifying area

2. Submit Your Application

Complete the CrFA® India application form, upload the required documents, and settle the applicable program fee.
Your application will be reviewed for qualification and compliance with CrFA® standards.

3. Complete the CrFA® Program

Enroll in the CrFA® training program, which covers:

  • Forensic accounting fundamentals

  • Fraud investigation

  • Digital and data analytics

  • Internal controls and legal concepts

  • Ethics and professional conduct

4. Take the CrFA® Examination

After completing the training, candidates must pass the official CrFA® exam.
The assessment ensures readiness in key areas such as evidence analysis, fraud detection, reporting, and ethical judgment.

5. Commit to the Code of Ethics

All successful candidates must agree to uphold the CrFA® Code of Ethics, ensuring integrity, independence, confidentiality, and professionalism in all engagements.

6. Earn & Maintain Your CrFA®

Once certified, you will:

  • Receive your official certificate

  • Gain rights to use the CrFA® designation

  • Be required to renew your membership annually and complete continuing education requirements
